How in the world anyone can have been successfully using Microsoft Word for years and years and somehow only get a 66% on a class equivalence exam is beyond me. I studied everything on the syllabus they gave me, and they threw in things that were absolutely ridiculous. (But not one thing about tables or mail merge, which I looked at the most, since they were on the syllabus!) But, luckily, I needed a 65% to pass out of the class. So, at least I never have to think about it again.
Today was my big class equivalence exam day. I took one for the basic computer class and one for the basic math class. Happily, I think the math one went really well. I'll know for sure in a week or two. It was an overview of everything I haven't looked at since 8th or 9th grade, but it was kind of fun to do. (What can I say - I like algebra.) Having a husband who does stats for a living helped on the statistics section, too.
Finals week was last week, so I've been studying non-stop for about two weeks now. But, since I (think) I tested out of two classes today and I kept my 4.0 this semester, it was definitely worth it. I feel now like I can focus on Christmas.
Joel continues to be amazing. All of a sudden a few weeks ago he started talking. Like, constant commentary sort of talking. He'll tell me in sentences what he's feeling like, what he wants to eat, that he's sad because I'm about to change him, that he's not dumping his milk onto the countertop, everything! It's a lot of fun to be around him right now. He's counting to three, repeats letters and the alphabet back to you, and is constantly giving hugs and kisses. He is so, so, so much fun.
On Christmas Eve, please stop by our house sometime. We are having lots of food and lots of festive fun (er, that means talking and catching up and hanging out) from 7pm on. We'd love to see everyone and anyone. (Jannelle, I'm making homemade hummus this time, I promise!)
