So, I signed up for Anatomy & Physiology I at Owens. I start on January 11th.

This feels so incredibly weird.

I had an advising appointment right after filling out a very short, one-page, free application (another incredibly weird thing...), in which I found out that, since my ACT, taken like 12 years ago, was over a 20 (!), I am guaranteed a spot in the Spring 2010 incoming RN class. I told her that I could get an entire BA within that amount of time, and she seemed to wonder why in the world anyone would do such a thing. When I told her my goal was to get my MSN and then my CNM, she said, "Well, while you're waiting for your nursing courses to begin, you don't want to waste your time. You could start taking classes for your masters during that time." Erm... She also wasn't sure that I'd be able to get out of the Comp I & II courses. They require a "C" or better from a transfer school. Here's the thing: I never took the English 111 & 112 classes at BG because I got out of both of them from scoring high enough on the AP test in high school. So, I never got an official grade in those courses, just a pass or whatever they give you. That, according to Owens, doesn't constitute a "C" or better. Unreal.

So, thinking that the GEMINI program was my first choice and Owens was my safety was apparently backwards.

I am SO hoping to get into MUO/MCO/UT/whatever it is this week.

In other news, Joel is really, seriously walking. It seems to now be his mode-of-transportation-of-choice. He decided this, however, during my advising appointment yesterday. The boring adults talking must have been motivation enough, because no less then four times did I end up running after him as he left the office and headed down the hallway.

Can I just say this: I can't wait to be a midwife! :)

Woo hoo! Go you! This is so exciting!

I can't believe they wouldn't take your AP test scores in lieu of ENG 111 & 112. That seems so silly.

Anyway, congratulations on making a plan and taking the first steps!

Congrats! It's encouraging to hear that you made a decision to go for something you want and took the first steps (I'm in a similar situation right now.) Yay for you!
